Black and White Soirée Benefits Leukemia and Lymphoma Society

Ebony + Ivory Soiree20

No doubt about it, Cardinal’s Ebony and Ivory Soirée was a success. It was all there in black and white.

Although the path to a cure for leukemia, lymphoma, and all blood cancers is not as clear as black and white, Cardinal hosted a black and white fundraiser in early May to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS).

For many years, Cardinal has been dedicated to supporting the efforts of LLS to fund research for cures and to support people who are in treatment. The Cardinal family has both lost members to these devastating diseases and is proud to have survivors as part of its team.

Thanks to the generosity of its business partners, Cardinal threw a bash to remember at the Anaheim Community Center. Guests wore black and white attire, and enjoyed hors de ’oeuvres and drinks. Cardinal’s own Irene Neelis’ homemade sangria was a hands-down hit.

The evening featured dancing to two bands, Power of Blues and Eastside Groove. Both bands featured family and friends of the Cardinal team, some of whom are in treatment for leukemia.

Business partners kindly donated gift baskets and tickets to local events for raffle prizes. Attendees donated to LLS to receive entry into the raffles that were called throughout the evening.

The evening resulted in moving Cardinal ever closer to its $15,000 annual commitment to LLS. Thank you to all!

Cardinal Steps Out to Stamp Out Leukemia and Lymphoma

Cardinal Property Management, AAMC/ACMF, staff, family, and generous business partners, walked along a two mile route at Angel Stadium Saturday night, September 28, to help stamp out leukemia and lymphoma.

Cardinal has a long history of supporting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in this and other events to raise funds and awareness.

Light the NightAll across America, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Light the Night walkers raise funds and walk for new and more effective treatments so that blood cancer patients of all ages live longer, better lives. Cardinal has been raising funds all year for this event.

Event co-chairs Cardinal Account Manager Christine Santisteban and Accounts Payable Staff Member Noel Krips, organized the year-long fund raising efforts that were generously support by staff, families, and business partners. Events such as a Cinco de Mayo celebration and a Bunco night were well attended and raised funds beyond expectations.

“This is my first year co-chairing Cardinal’s ‘Light the Night’ team, and the experience was inspirational,” said Noel.  Seventeen members of Christine’s family walked in honor of her brother Salvador, who lost his battle at the age of 26.

Fifty-four people walked with Team Cardinal, and raised 111% of Cardinal’s original goal of $15,000. “We raised $16,699.29. Now we know where our bar is set for next year,” said Cardinal President Farrah Esquer.

Cardinal placed 4th in the top 10 Fundraising Teams. “This is quite an accomplishment, considering that other teams were from large corporations,” said Farrah. “I’m so proud of everyone who worked hard all year to support The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.”

Bunco Benefits Leukemia & Lymphoma Society

On September 6, nearly 100 participants raised $8,622.29 to add to the Light the Night fundraising efforts that will culminate in Anaheim Stadium this Saturday.

With the help of our generous business partners, families, and staff, Cardinal raised the money for new and more effective treatments so that blood cancer patients of all ages live longer, better lives. Cardinal has been raising funds all year for the annual LLS Light the Night walk at Anaheim Stadium. And thanks to all, we exceeded our expectations!

Team Cardinal Participates in the 2012 Light the Night Walk Benefiting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society

For the third year in a row, Team Cardinal participated in the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Annual Light the Night Walk at Angels Stadium on Saturday, September 29th. This year, Team Cardinal consisted of 67 members including staff members, friends, family, business partners and clients. The team raised $12,594.48, exceeding its goal of $10,000.00, to help LLS reach its 2012 goal of $1.5 million and earned a spot as one of the top 5 corporate teams.

The mission of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. LLS has contributed over $750 million to critical blood cancer research. Last year over 40,000 patients received financial assistance and free educational information, and patient and caregiver support, from LLS totaling over $6 million.

Team members enjoyed the special tent in the VIP area and enjoyed the festivities, food and treats. Each team member received a Light the Night t-shirt as well as an illuminated balloon for the walk. The team also took a photograph with Dennis Kuhl, the Chairman of Angels Baseball, as well as the former Angel and Hall of Fame Member, Rod Carew.

Team Cardinal reached its goal by receiving generous donations from business partners, family and friends and by successfully holding its first Bunco and Silent Auction Fundraiser Event on September 14th. The prom-themed event was a huge success and raised over $3,700.00. Attendees of the event dressed in their best prom attire and enjoyed a night of Bunco, food, drinks, pictures and of course, battling each other for silent auction items.

Team Cardinal wishes to thank everyone for their generous support and looks forward to another successful fundraising year for 2013.

Team Cardinal participates in “Light the Night”

Enthusiastic walkers from Cardinal Property Management prepare to “Light the Night” with thousands of volunteers in support of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society at Angel Stadium in Anaheim. Walkers sought pledges to support critical programs for cancer patients and research toward a cure. Cardinal made individual and team donations.

The Cardinal kids create the team banner to be carried in honor of those who fought cancer and remain in our hearts, those who are fighting, and all who are helping advance research by raising funds for a cure.

Proud of their accomplishment, the team celebrates at the end of their 5K trek around and through Angel Stadium.

For 30 years, Cardinal’s code of honor has been aligned with Winston Churchill’s philosophy that “We make a living by what we get, we make a life by what we give.” The firm passes this belief on to the next generation, the Cardinal kids.

Angel Stadium in Anaheim, played host to thousands of angels who walked 5K to raise funds toward finding a cure for a variety of cancers.
