Cardinal Steps Out to Stamp Out Leukemia and Lymphoma

Cardinal Property Management, AAMC/ACMF, staff, family, and generous business partners, walked along a two mile route at Angel Stadium Saturday night, September 28, to help stamp out leukemia and lymphoma.

Cardinal has a long history of supporting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in this and other events to raise funds and awareness.

Light the NightAll across America, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Light the Night walkers raise funds and walk for new and more effective treatments so that blood cancer patients of all ages live longer, better lives. Cardinal has been raising funds all year for this event.

Event co-chairs Cardinal Account Manager Christine Santisteban and Accounts Payable Staff Member Noel Krips, organized the year-long fund raising efforts that were generously support by staff, families, and business partners. Events such as a Cinco de Mayo celebration and a Bunco night were well attended and raised funds beyond expectations.

“This is my first year co-chairing Cardinal’s ‘Light the Night’ team, and the experience was inspirational,” said Noel.  Seventeen members of Christine’s family walked in honor of her brother Salvador, who lost his battle at the age of 26.

Fifty-four people walked with Team Cardinal, and raised 111% of Cardinal’s original goal of $15,000. “We raised $16,699.29. Now we know where our bar is set for next year,” said Cardinal President Farrah Esquer.

Cardinal placed 4th in the top 10 Fundraising Teams. “This is quite an accomplishment, considering that other teams were from large corporations,” said Farrah. “I’m so proud of everyone who worked hard all year to support The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.”

2013 Staff Movie Night

Cardinal Property Management, AAMC/ACMF, team members and their families took a break on a recent Friday night to celebrate summer. The group enjoyed a barbecue and pool party at a private home, and watched Disney Pixar’s “Up” on an outdoor movie screen. Sunset Flix set up and operated a 184 inch screen and popped popcorn for the group as the Cardinal Kids watched from the swimming pool and Jacuzzi.

El Torito Tacos and Seafood Catering cooked beef and chicken tacos on the patio, and filled the neighborhood with mouth-watering aromas.

Team Cardinal Gets Angry for Halloween

Team Cardinal (named “Angry Cardinals” for Halloween) escaped from the running dead on October 21 at Vail Lake Village in Temecula. We protected our brains and ran for our lives from hordes of zombies. “Run For Your Lives” is a 5K obstacle course that includes navigating mud, slogging through 4 feet of water, swishing down muddy slides, belly crawling under barbed wire, and avoiding electrically charged fences—all the while protecting our flags from the clutches of hundreds of zombies.

We’re proud to announce that all Angry Cardinals reached the finish line. Some of us were alive and some of us were transformed into zombies. You’ll have to figure out which of us is which!  At the end of our adventure race, we celebrated with live entertainment and music, local celebrities, vendors, food, and various zombie drinks!

Thank you to Las Flores Landscaping for hosting Cardinal at the November 30 Anaheim Ducks hockey game! Gracious hosts Joe and Debbie Hamby (Las Flores owners) shared their suite at the Honda Center with Cardinal employees and their guests. The “goal” was to “skate” into a fun evening. “Net” result? Goal exceeded! And the Ducks quacked up the Canadiens 4 to 1.

Team Cardinal participates in “Light the Night”

Enthusiastic walkers from Cardinal Property Management prepare to “Light the Night” with thousands of volunteers in support of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society at Angel Stadium in Anaheim. Walkers sought pledges to support critical programs for cancer patients and research toward a cure. Cardinal made individual and team donations.

The Cardinal kids create the team banner to be carried in honor of those who fought cancer and remain in our hearts, those who are fighting, and all who are helping advance research by raising funds for a cure.

Proud of their accomplishment, the team celebrates at the end of their 5K trek around and through Angel Stadium.

For 30 years, Cardinal’s code of honor has been aligned with Winston Churchill’s philosophy that “We make a living by what we get, we make a life by what we give.” The firm passes this belief on to the next generation, the Cardinal kids.

Angel Stadium in Anaheim, played host to thousands of angels who walked 5K to raise funds toward finding a cure for a variety of cancers.
