Susan-croppedSusan Naples – Founder and CEO

Ms. Naples founded Cardinal in 1981 with a single goal, one from which she and her dedicated staff have never swerved—to enhance the quality of community association living. Ms. Naples holds  two national certifications, Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA) and Professional Community Association Manager (PCAM) from the Community Associations Institute (CAI). Passionate about continuing education, Ms. Naples sponsors all Cardinal managers through national designations and certifications. She is a founding member and former Director of the CACM an organization committed to enhancing professionalism and accountability in the community association management field. During her decades of committed service to community associations, Ms. Naples has served on numerous state and national committees for CACM and CAI.

Farrah-croppedFarrah Esquer – President

Ms. Esquer has held multiple positions of increasing responsibility at Cardinal since 1998. Her business prowess and dedicated service led her to guide the company as executive vice president, director of property management, and in December of 2010, Ms. Esquer was appointed to the position of President. This was an unprecedented appointment as the president and CEO positions have been held exclusively by the founder and owners. Ms. Esquer holds the professional designations of Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA), Association Management Specialist (AMS) and Professional Community Association Manager (PCAM) from the Community Associations Institute (CAI). She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Phoenix. Her sense of responsibility to the industry inspired her to serve on CAI’s Orange County Chapter Education Committee, Manager Support Committee and Publications Committee. She is a past Chair of CAI’s Manager Support Committee, Publications Committee and Past President’s Council. She also served two terms on the Board of Directors of CAI’s Orange County Chapter from 2010 through 2015 in the positions of Secretary (2012), President-Elect (2013), President (2014) and Past President (2015). CAI bestowed upon Ms. Esquer the prestigious John C. Kubas Manager of the Year award for 2009, the 2011 Author of the Year Award for her article titled Money Matters, which was printed in the OC View, the 2011 Speaker of the Year Award for her participation on the panel of the January 2011 luncheon regarding ethics and personal behavior, and the 2012 Outstanding Service Award for her dedication to the Chapter. In 2015, Ms Esquer was nominated for CAI’s Chapter Appreciation award.

Karen-croppedKaren Holthe – Director of Operations and Business Development

Ms. Holthe joined the Cardinal team in 2010. She is proud to hold the professional designations of Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA) and Association Management Specialist (AMS) from the Community Associations Institute (CAI). A graduate of California State University, Fullerton, she holds a Bachelor of Science degree and has fifteen+ years of professional experience working with non-profit Board members and volunteers. Ms. Holthe serves on the Orange County Chapter of CAI’s Education Committee and was nominated for the CAI-OC’s 2012 Manager of the Year Award in the Portfolio Category. In 2014, Ms. Holthe was awarded the CAI-OC’s Manager of the Year in the Portfolio Category. In 2015, she was nominated for CAI’s Innovative Management award.

Theresa-croppedTheresa Hirschman – Senior Account Manager

Ms. Hirschman began her Cardinal community association management career in 2000. She holds the professional designations of Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA), Association Management Specialist (AMS) and Professional Community Association Manager (PCAM) designations from the Community Associations Institute (CAI). She is an active member of CAI’s Orange County Chapter Education Committee, CAI’s Manager Support Committee and the Chapter’s Outreach Committee. Ms. Hirschman was awarded the 2012 Manager of the Year Award in the Portfolio Category by the Orange County Chapter of CAI. She was nominated for Committee Member of the Year in 2015.

Janet-croppedJanet Mehan – Senior Account Manager

Ms. Mehan began her career at Cardinal in 2008. She holds the professional designation of Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA) and the Association Management Specialist (AMS) from the Community Associations Institute (CAI). Ms. Mehan holds a Bachelor of Science degree from California State University at Long Beach.  Ms. Mehan currently serves on the CAI-OC’s Mini Tradeshow Committee.

ja-bioinside joined Cardinal in 2016 as an Account Manager with more than 30 years’ experience. He has earned the professional designations of Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA), Association Manager Specialist (AMS), and Professional Community Association Manager (PCAM) from Community Associations Institute. He serves on the CAI-OC’s Publication Committee which is responsible for publishing the OC View for Board Members and Industry Professionals.

Teri for websiteTeri Brown – Account Manager

Ms. Brown started her industry career at Cardinal in 2010 as an Administrative Assistant. She then became Assistant to the President. In 2012, she became the on-site Administrative Assistant at a 521-unit community in which she rose through the ranks to become General Manager. In 2016, Ms. Brown returned to Cardinal headquarters as a Portfolio Manager. She is proud to hold a Certified Manager of Communications (CMCA) title and is continuing to work toward additional designations in the community management industry.

Lisa for websiteLisa Bryce – Account Manager

Lisa Bryce joined Cardinal in 2015 as an administrator. She quickly demonstrated her abilities and was promoted to manager. Before working for Cardinal, she served in administrative positions for a union and for a school. Ms. Bryce is a member of the Orange County Regional Chapter of Community Associations Institute and has completed all course work for the CAI designation of Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA).

April Dana joined Cardinal in 2016. Prior to coming to Cardinal, she was an office manager. Ms. Dana is a member of the Orange County Regional Chapter of Community Associations Institute and has earned the CAI designation of Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA).

Brittany Gammon – Account Manager

Brittany Gammon joined Cardinal in 2015 as an administrator. Before working for Cardinal, she worked as an administrator in secondary education, and in a variety of customer service positions. Ms. Gammon is a member of the Orange County Regional Chapter of Community Associations Institute and has completed all course work for the CAI designation of Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA).

Kate for'Kate Harris – Account Manager

Kate Harris joined Cardinal in 2016, and has served as a community manager since 2003. She has managed large-scale master planned communities, including single-family homes, and condominium and townhome communities. She also has extensive experience with commercial properties. Ms. Harris is a member of the California Association of Community Managers (CACM) and holds the CACM designation of Certified Community Association Manager (CCAM).

Mr. McKay joined Cardinal in late 2015 with more than 10 years of managerial experience. He is a member of the Orange County Regional Chapter of Community Associations Institute and has earned the CAI designation of Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA). Wes holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from California State University, Fullerton.

Ms. Zurrica started her career at Cardinal in 1997. She is the on-site manager for a historical high-rise building in downtown Long Beach. Ms. Zurrica oversees the daily operations of the building, from general janitorial to complex, extended projects. The building also contains commercial properties owned by the association. Ms. Zurrica has earned the professional designations of Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA), Association Management Specialist (AMS) and Professional Community Association Manager (PCAM) from the Community Associations Institute (CAI).  Ms. Zurrica was awarded CAI-OC’s Manager of the Year Award in the High Rise Category for 2012.
